Let's call him BOB.

Millie Mondays

I think it's safe to say that my family, meaning my sisters and I, love the Biggest Loser.  Judi's already written about it and it's probably safe to say it won't be the only time.  Anyway, I love it.  I love watching people lose weight.  For me seeing the contestants lose weight is such an inspiration.  Even though I don't have hundreds of pounds to lose, it's amazing to see the triumph of the human spirit to do the impossible.  It inspires me to try hard in everything I do, not just in my health.

But also it's a little discouraging at times.  Sometimes I think, well yeah, if I had a personal trainer and no worries besides losing weight, I could do it to.  I'm still carrying around baby weight and of course ideally I should have lost it by now; Aurora is fifteen months old.  But I have realized it is dang hard to lose weight when you're home all day and can grab a snack at any time.  And the boredom...don't even get me started on the boredom.  Sometime the only thing too look forward to are meals, because they mark the passing of the day, and it's not so "fun" to only have an egg for breakfast.

In all reality I don't really care what I look like or what I weigh, I just want to feel good again, so I decided to enlist my wonderful husband Robert...or should we call him Bob from now on?

Bob - Husband/Trainer
Funny thing is, Robert hates being called Bob, but that's beside the point.  I asked Robert if he would train me and help me get into shape.  Robert is athletic and ran cross country and track in High School.  He knows how to get into shape and he knows me probably better than anyone.  Who better to train me than him?  Plus he doesn't cost hundreds of dollars.

So off we went; he made me interval run (four minutes normal, one minute really pushing fast and so on) and I made it maybe fifteen minutes.  Robert was hoping for more, but for the first day I thought it was amazing.  Then he took me to the soccer field and had me do stations.  Man I was dying!  At one point I said, "Please I can't breathe, I'm going to pass out, Honey let me rest!"  Robert's only reply was, "I'm not your loving husband right now, Jump Higher!"  That's when I knew his inner Bob had come out.  Robert is the sweetest husband and will do anything to help me be comfortable, but not when he's Bob!

I'm really excited about all of this.  It's nice to have someone there pushing you harder than you thought you could handle.    Robert really will do anything to make me feel comfortable.  He knows I'll be so much happier with life if I'm in better shape.  Also I love spending time with Robert, and I don't think the kiddo minded all the time outside!
Here's to feeling healthy and being happy!

Oh, Millie! That is so funny! Keep going and don't give up. Now that you've asked this of Robert (or shall we say Bob) you've got to give it your all or he'll revert back to the nice Robert and go easy on you! I think this sounds so fun. Good job!! P.s. LOVE the pictures. So funny! P.P.S I'm so proud of you. It isn't easy.

Millie, I laughed so hard to think of Robert as Bob. Good writing and fun entry. I hope you can keep going. There is not a better feeling than being in shape when it comes to your health. Ask Joni, she will tell you. Keep up the good work and you will look great but most importantly you will feel great. love, Mom
