Easter this year was really fun. Aurora got to be apart of five different Easter egg hunts and by the third or fourth one she really got the hang of it. Which meant that she looked really smart on Sunday next to all of her cousins who where the same age. Sorry guys, she's not a genius, it's just practice.
Aurora and two of her Lewis cousins - it's hard to get three one year-olds to take good pictures! |

She probably thought we were crazy because as soon as we were done at home we got dressed and went to the church for another egg hunt!
I don't know why they keep making me pick up eggs... |
Oh well, it's pretty fun. |
Sure enough by Sunday evening Aurora was INSANE! Even catching a glimpse of candy threw her into a tizzy fit. By this point I was trying to say no more and no longer be the enabler that I was. But she wouldn't have it. She followed all of her cousins around screaming at them to give her candy. She was red-faced, sweaty and completely out of control, and we knew we had an addict on our hands. We did everything, we tried to distract her, give her something else, talk to her or ignore her, and nothing. So finally we just had to say our goodbyes and leave the family. Maybe one day they'll have an intervention...maybe that's what they talked about after we left.
She may look like a normal social candy eater... |
So here we are trying to set up a plan to help our poor addicted baby get off the sweets. Trouble is the three big Easter baskets staring at us, maybe we'll hide them in the flour bucket-she'll never find them there.
Good thing Aurora is sweet enough that we don't need any extra sugar in our lives! Have a happy Monday.

I had no idea Robert has a sweet tooth! That is so funny! Also, I like your idea of having the Easter Bunny come on Saturday. I am going to do that next year!
Great post, Millie! I have four little ones who keep asking for candy. For a few years, when they were really small, the Easter bunny only brought a few pieces...and I mean just a few. We were all so excited. We ate the candy and then were done. It was just perfect! But now, every time I turn around, Austin has another piece of candy in his hand!! Gotta love Easter!
Who can blame her. Easter candy is so good. Hope she calmed down.
My kids have been carrying around gigantic chocolate bunnies for two days now. They are covered in chocolate... my HOUSE is covered in chocolate... what was I thinking?? I keep thinking they will finish it off, but somehow they keep finding more!
